Since 10 June a competition has been in place to rename the new smart card, part of a new ticketing system. Several schools and youth clubs helped come up with a list of around thirty potential names, these were then shortlisted to four.
People have been able to vote from 12 August. This was able to be done online, at the Kiosk, by email and telephone.
More than two hundred and fifty votes were cast and while all four names were well represented the name Puffin Pass proved a clear winner.
CT Plus would like to thank all those who took part, especially the many young people who helped initiate the process. The groups will now be invited to the Station at Les Banques for a tour and see how the chosen name will be developed into the new card design.
The next step will be the introduction of the Puffin Pass, hopefully in October. This will soon be followed by a smart phone app which makes the most of the new system.
